London Summer

Spend a month studying in London - one of the most diverse and cosmopolitan cities on earth. CCSA’s four-week program enables you to experience the great city while earning 3 or 6 hours of credit. You will reside in en-suite accommodation at Moonraker Point in the exciting Southwark area of London, while studying with faculty and students from other CCSA member schools at the University of London King’s College Waterloo Campus. Beyond the classroom and field trips, the schedule will enable you to explore the world outside of London on weekends.

Students may take a second 3 credit-hour course for an additional $700. Your home university may have an additional fee, so check with your CCSA campus representative. The $700 second course fee is non-refundable following the first payment deadline. Students considering a second class should bear in mind that doing so will require them to be in class or mandatory class- related activities all day Monday through Thursday.

Weekend Excursion to EDINBURGH & ALNWICK CASTLE (Friday, July 17 – Sunday, July 19)
ADDITIONAL COST $579 for a twin-bedded room ($662 for a single room)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Participants must reserve 2 days of their BritRail Pass travel for this excursion.

See Edinburgh Castle and the crown jewels of Scotland! Upon arrival at Edinburgh City Centre Train Station, you will be met by a coach and guide for transfer to University of Edinburgh’s Pollock Halls of Residence. Following lunch at Pollock Halls and a walking tour of the immediate area, check-in at Chancellors Court—with dinner provided that evening at Pollock Halls. Saturday will be free for you to explore (sites such as Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, museums and historic churches) and to absorb the city’s art, music and theatre culture—making use of your hop-on/hop-off bus pass. On Sunday, you will be transported by coach to Alnwick Castle—featured as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry in the first two Harry Potter films and as the magnificent Brancaster Castle in Downton Abbey’s 2014 Christmas special. Following the visit to Alnwick Castle, you will return to London by train from Alnmouth Station.

Full Day Excursion to BLENHEIM PALACE & THE COTSWOLDS (Friday, July 24)

Blenheim Palace is a masterpiece of English Baroque architecture and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The stunning State Rooms are brimming with priceless works of art and magnificent tapestries. The Palace is still inhabited today by the Duke of Marlborough. The Gardens are set in over 754 hectares of land with an exquisite water garden.

Following the visit to Blenheim Palace and Gardens, you will depart for a coach tour through the Cotswolds -a region of outstanding natural beauty characterized by attractive small towns and thatched villages of yellow Cotswold stone made prosperous by the historic wool trade. Visit Stow-on-the-Wold and explore the history, art and culture of this ancient, picturesque market town.

Full Day Excursion to STONEHENGE & SALISBURY (Saturday, July 25)

Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England, is one of the world’s most recognized sites, a circle of mystery that fascinates visitors from all over the world. Your visit will allow you to walk around the outside of the stone circle, and you can listen to some of the myths and legends about Stonehenge on the audio tour. Salisbury, on the banks of the River Avon, is best known for its glorious cathedral.

Salisbury Cathedral dates back to 1220 and has the tallest spire of any cathedral in England. It is also home to the best preserved original manuscript of the Magna Carta. The town retains some lovely medieval streets, and the 15th century Poultry Cross is certainly worth a visit.

Weekend Excursion to PARIS (Friday, July 31 – Sunday, August 2)
ADDITIONAL COST $866 for a twin-bedded room ($1069 for a single room)

See Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower! Participants will be transported by coach to London St. Pancras Station, where they will travel to Paris aboard the Eurostar train via the English Channel tunnel. Upon arrival at Paris Gare du Nord Station, participants will board a coach for transfer to the 4-star Mercure Paris Montmartre Hotel—located at the foot of the Sacre Coeur hill, in the beautiful area of Montmartre, Paris, France, (18th arrondissement) AND close to the Place De Clichy metro station. Rooms are twin/triple occupancy with private bath, free WiFi and buffet breakfast each morning.

Following check-in and a brief onsite orientation, a local guide will lead a walking tour of the immediate area and offer an introduction to the metro system. A free day on Saturday will allow time for museums, sightseeing and shopping.

Following breakfast and checkout on Sunday, a local guide will lead the group on a walking tour of Montmartre. Montmartre is a charming village in the city of Paris where artists such as Renoir, Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Suzanne Valadon, Utrillo and many others lived. Musicians such as Erik Satie and Hoffenback will also be referenced. The walking tour includes a visit to Sacre Coeur basilica and ends at Place du Tertre where artists paint now. Following lunch (own expense) participants will enjoy a one-hour circular cruise on the River Seine before traveling by coach to Paris Gare du Nord Station and return journey to London.

Group or Individual Travel Allowed

Option One - Group Travel

Travel together with faculty, staff and other participants from your CCSA program with our group travel. CCSA will purchase a airline ticket from select U.S. cities on your behalf. The airline cost will be included in your final bill from CCSA. In addition to the flight, you will also receive transport to/from the accommodation in the destination city and the airport.

You can check our currently available departure cities on our departures page CCSA highly recommends this option for those new to international travel.

  • roundtrip air transportation from one of CCSA's designated U.S. departure cities.
  • roundtrip ground transportation between airport and the accommodation site.
  • CCSA faculty and staff to guide you through the immigration and customs process.

Option Two - Individual Travel

If you wish to make independent travel arrangements and depart from a city not listed or travel outside the program dates please choose INDEPENDENT TRAVEL from the selection below. You will book your own flights and arrange your own transportation to/from the airport and the accommodation site of the program. This is a great option for going early, staying late, or using airline miles to purchase tickets. We highly recommend participants not fly standby for these programs as a late arrival may negatively impact your grade.

Important Note for Independent Travelers: Please be aware that your check-in date may be up to 24 hours AFTER the program start date (program dates include travel time).
