Michael Hatton is the program head and an assistant professor in the Theatre & Dance Program at Northern Kentucky University. His courses focus on theatre history, race, and gender through dramatic literature and dramatic theory and criticism. Once a student on a CCSA program, he now regularly teaches and serves as program staff for CCSA programs.

Course Description:

Discover the rich history and vibrant culture of one of the world's most dynamic cities—London! From its ancient Roman origins to its role as a global cultural hub, London has long been a melting pot of diverse influences. In this course, the city becomes our classroom as we explore both its historical traditions and contemporary trends in theater, literature, architecture, art, and cuisine.
You'll visit iconic landmarks like Westminster Abbey and explore world-class collections at the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. We'll take guided walking tours through historic districts, attend West End performances, and go behind the scenes at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Along the way, you'll experience London's bustling street markets and savor the city's diverse cuisines, reflecting its multicultural character.
This lower-division Gen Ed course offers an immersive opportunity to deepen your understanding of urban culture, blending academic study with firsthand experiences in one of the most exciting cities in the world.

None

Physical Activity Requirements:
Each day participants should be prepared to walk 3-5 miles on rough or uneven pavement, climb multiple sets of stairs, and spend extended time standing.
